SEMI-CONTACT - NO KNOCKOUTS - MUAY THAI TOURNAMENT
Get ready for an exciting day filled with action, skill, and community spirit at our upcoming Muay Thai Xperience 1! This semi-contact event promises to be a fantastic experience for both participants and spectators alike. Beginner to intermediate/amateur Muay Thai practitioners are invited to compete.

REGISTRATION FEES
Early registration for all divisions: $60
Late registration for all divisions (after 9/14): $70

PREVIOUS FIGHTING EXPERIENCE
Competitors are required to accurately disclose their prior fighting experience upon registration. Failure to honestly disclose experience will result in disqualification.
Please disclose ALL point Muay Thai/Kickboxing, point Boxing, smokers, amateur Muay Thai/Kickboxing, amateur Boxing, and amateur MMA during registration.
*Professional fighters may not compete in this tournament
ABC Class Divisions
Competitors are placed within the below classes/divisions based on the number of stand-up matches they have previously had.
C class: 0-3 previous matches
B class: 4-6 previous matches
A class: 7-10 previous matches
A amateur: 11+ previous matches
WEIGHT CLASSES
Competitors can register at their chosen weight and will be required to weigh in at this specified weight. Matchups will be made within a 10lb range. Weight cutting is not required or encouraged. Competitors will weigh in for their match the morning of the tournament.

RULES AND DIVISION INFORMATION
Matches are overseen and controlled by trained ISKA officials. Failure to follow the rules will result in disqualification.
Adults Semi-Contact
3 x 2:00 minute rounds, 1:00 minute breaks
Adults will compete following Strikers Combat League's Semi-Contact rule set (see below). Athletes will be matched up based on age, weight (within 10lbs), and class/experience. Optional no head shots division available.
Youth Semi-Contact
6yrs-8yrs: 2 x 1:00 minute rounds, 45 second breaks
9yrs-15yrs: 2 x 1:30 minute rounds, 1:00 minute breaks
16yrs-17yrs: 2 x 1:30 minute rounds, 1:00 minute breaks
Youth athletes will compete following the MTX Semi-Contact rule set (see below). Athletes will be matched up based on age (within 24 months), weight (within 10lbs), and class/experience.
MTX SEMI-CONTACT RULES
1. No Knockouts or Technical Knockouts - Knockouts result in immediate disqualification. Obvious attempts to achieve a knockout will result in one warning and then disqualification.
2. Semi Contact - These are point sparring style matches, and fighters should only throw strikes with a maximum of 70% power. Use of excessive power will result in one warning and then disqualification.
3. Competitor Safety - Fighter safety is top priority, and referees have the ability to intervene or stop a match at any time for safety reasons. These reasons may include:
• A fighter is not properly defending themselves due to injury, lack of skill, or exhaustion.
• A fighter is at risk of serious injury.
• A fighter is utilizing cheap-shots or illegal techniques.
• A fighter is throwing strikes with maximum power.
Path to victory:
Display your Muay Thai skills while following the rule set. The fighter who competes with superior conditioning, technique, and sportsmanship will be awarded the win.
Encouraged techniques:
-Punches - jab, cross, hook, uppercut, body punches
-Kicks - round kicks, push kicks, side kicks, leg kicks
-Knees - to the body *only*
-Sweeps & Trips - to the front of leg *only*
-Clinch - knees to the body *only*, sweeps in clinch
-Kick Defense - blocks, checks, catches, evasion
-Punch Defense - blocks, parries, head movement
Illegal techniques:
- Elbows
- Knees to the head
- Spinning kicks
- Spinning back fists
- Kicks to the knee
- Push kicks/side kicks to the leg
- Axe kicks
- Wrestling takedowns (double/single leg, lat drop, fireman carry, etc.)-Judo throws (hip toss, etc.)
- Sweeps to the back of the leg
- Strikes to the back of the head
- Strikes to the spine
- Strikes to the groin
- Strikes to the throat
Required Gear:
For all divisions
• 16oz gloves (13yrs & up)
• 12oz or 16oz gloves (6yrs - 12yrs, depends on weight)
• Shin guards
• Head gear
• Mouth piece
• Athletic cup
Clothing:
• Training shorts or pants, no pockets
• Rash guard or T-Shirt tucked in, no shirt OK
