Description
Hosted at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) on Saturday, March 14, 2026, this landmark championship will bring together student-athletes from universities across the country, from Ontario and Quebec to British Columbia, Alberta, and beyond, to compete, connect, and represent their schools on a national stage.
All registered university and college students are welcome to compete, from undergraduate to graduate level. To complete registration, all athletes must:
- Upload a photo of their valid student ID.
- Provide their official university email address.
- Follow the verification instructions sent to their university email in accordance with CUJA’s eligibility policy.
- In some cases, we might ask for a proof of enrollment letter, as this is crucial to our organization.
Divisions Include:
- Gi & No-Gi Individual Divisions — organized by belt, weight, and gender.
- Competitors may register for both Gi and No-Gi divisions for the same price.
- Co-Ed Quintet Team Matches (3 men & 2 women per team), making Jiu-Jitsu a true team sport at the university level.
- FISU Qualifier Divisions — in collaboration with the Ontario Jiu-Jitsu Association (OJA) and the Canadian Jiu-Jitsu Association (CJA), top-performing athletes ages 18-24 from the Blue Belt to Black Belt divisions will compete together for the chance to qualify to represent Team Canada at the 2026 FISU World University Championship Combat Sports, taking place June 8–14, 2026, in Brasília, Brazil.
Whether you’re a white belt stepping onto the mats for the first time or a seasoned athlete aiming for gold, CUJC 2026 is your chance to make history.
Represent your university, test your skills, and join a new generation of Canadian student-athletes building the future of our sport.
